Sober living homes in Massachusetts are certified by MASH, the Massachusetts Alliance for Sober Housing. The Massachusetts Alliance for Sober Living is a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit organization whose mission is to support recovery guests throughout Massachusetts and to practice national quality standards for recovery residences. The Men’s Recovery Home has provided  substance use disorder treatment to individuals struggling with addiction since 1972.

Guests in Lowell can access many meetings and support services throughout the city. Lowell is located near public transportation and several major highways making it easy to commute to other parts of Massachusetts and beyond. This is highly beneficial if you have limited transportation as it allows you to have access to the abundance of resources and activities that Lowell has to offer. “We stand here now knowing that in just a few days, another nine women will live in a safe, affordable and supportive environment where they can continue their recovery,” Gignac said. In her memory, the Megan House Foundation is opening its second residential sober living facility called Emma’s House, which will provide supportive case management for nine women in Lowell. There, they will work toward independence and their own health for up to 24 months before transitioning to more permanent accommodations.
